| Zuckerman Homes of Coral Springs’ vice president Ryan Zuckerman is heading to Arcadia today to distribute 60 bags of supplies to Hurricane Charley victims.
Zuckerman Homes took up donations from its employees and the corporation matched what was donated. The result was 60 bags of food, toiletries, clothes and more. Working through the United Way, families in Arcadia were identified and Zuckerman will be hand-delivering the items this afternoon.
“We’ve been through this firsthand with Andrew and we know the devastation it can bring,” Zuckerman said. “We just wanted to do anything we could to help.”
The idea came from something Zuckerman Homes already had been doing. When it closes on a house, the homeowner receives a beach bag with a company logo to keep all the documents in.
For this purpose, the bags will be used for the donations. Anything left over will be donated to the United Way of Charlotte County, Zuckerman said.
Zuckerman Homes is a builder of communities throughout Florida. Some of the communities in this area include Mariposa in Naples and Sunset Trace and Nature’s Cove in Estero. |
